Lisa Boneta was born and raised in Long Island, New York and is currently writing away in New Haven Connecticut. She graduated from Manhattan College in May 2018 with her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. While at Manhattan College, Lisa served as President for the IEEE Eta Kappa Nu Gamma Alpha Chapter and was a member of Tau Beta Pi. She also received the award for Electrical Engineering her senior year. Throughout her college career, Lisa was an intern at The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, AKF Group, and WSP. She was a research scholar at Manhattan College and did research encompassing vehicle collision avoidance, catastrophic convolutional codes, polarimetry and 3D segmentation of vertebrae. She is the main author on “Simultaneous Segmentation and Registration of Vertebral Bodies for Accurate BMD Measurements," 2017 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques IST 2017. Much of Lisa’s writing interest falls in the intersection of technology and its societal impact. She believes that innovation should always be met with social and environmental consciousness.
