I would like to use it for motion vibration analysis of an autonomous electric vehicle we are working on. I would also like to test the directional antenna feature for location tracking and compare it with GPS results. Lastly, implementation of various signal processing and machine learning algorithms on this would be interesting. Can’t wait to get started

Every machine has parts like motors, rotatory bodies, valves, gears, conveyor belts, etc. Sensors are positioned at a necessary place to identify their working conditions. Sensors play a major role in monitoring the Machinery function, there are many sensors with suitable ranges and all sensors cannot be useful for all applications. The important sensors to check the machinery health are motion, pressure, temperature, encoders, vibration, proximity, flow, flame, gas, level, humidity, position, contact, etc with these sensing parameters we can estimate the task completion time, health of machine, products quality, etc.
In order to caliber the system health we need a Sensors Kit so that data can be used for analysis like predictive maintenance, Vibration analysis, to study and known about the instrument and their parts health. The complex wave data is split into individual wave to known the frequency from that we can justify the health of machinery. Wavelet or Fourier transformations are performed using the MATLAB Software once the data is collected from different sensor.

I would like to use the “STWIN SensorTile (STEVAL-STWINKT1B) Wireless Industrial Node Development Kit” to measure the machinery parts Vibrations, motion, temperature, position, etc. The data from sensor kit is transfer to the remote device with on-board Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity or can be stored on-board SD card for analysis.  I had programming experience on SensorTile (STEVAL-STLKT01V1) kit to sense the environment data and store in the Smartphone with mobile APP. It will be good opportunity to expose the vibration analysis techniques to understand the machinery health to the community members through this Giveaway Kit.

The STWIN SensorTile wireless industrial node (STEVAL-STWINKT1B) development kit can be used as a testing device for industries such as condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
