DAC Brief: Showcasing the Latest Innovations in Analog Mixed-Signal Verification

Overview

Mentor’s Analog FastSPICE platform provides foundry-certified circuit verification for nanometer analog, radio frequency (RF), mixed-signal, memory, and custom digital circuits. Foundry certified to 5nm, the platform delivers nanometer-scale SPICE accuracy five times faster than traditional SPICE simulators and two times faster than parallel SPICE simulators.

To help ensure silicon-accurate characterization, the platform includes comprehensive, full-spectrum device noise analysis. Mentor’s Symphony Mixed-Signal Platform, powered by the Analog FastSPICE solution, offers fast and accurate mixed-signal verification with industry-standard HDL simulators to provide verification of complex nanometer-scale mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs) with an intuitive use model, powerful debugging capabilities, and configuration support.

In this white paper from Mentor, a Siemens Business, explore the advancements made since DAC 2019 in Mentor's AMS Verification solutions.

The Analog FastSPICE (AFS) Platform is certified to FinFET processes by leading foundries, >5X faster than traditional SPICE, >2X faster than parallel SPICE, and has >50M-element capacity.

New updates include AFS eXTreme technology for nanometer-scale verification of large, post-layout analog designs providing up to 10X performance improvements, improvements focused on the core SPICE matrix solver, and the enabling of new RC reduction algorithms. The platform meets performance and user-defined accuracy and is available within the existing AFS Platform at no additional charge.
