AGM2222 Shielded Power Inductors | Component Highlights

March 09, 2020 by Coilcraft

The Component Highlights series provides a rundown of a component's specs and intended applications.

AGM2222 Shielded Power Inductors

Coilcraft’s AGM2222 series of shielded power inductors are compact, high-efficiency power inductors optimized for 48 V automotive systems.  The AGM2222 series is AEC-Q200 Grade 1 qualified, making the inductors ideal for bidirectional 12V to 48V DC-DC converters and other automotive and high-temperature applications.

The series offers current ratings up to 110 A and a soft saturation characteristic that is stable over temperature, making them ideal for high peak current handling. The inductors are 75% smaller than previous generation inductors, helping designers reduce size and weight, and the magnetic shielding reduces EMI at high switching frequencies to prevent interference with nearby circuits.

AGM2222 series have very low DCR to maximize power conversion efficiency, and they’re available with inductance values from 1.9 to 10 µH.

  • AEC-Q200 Grade 1 (-40°C to +125°C)
  • High current handling: soft saturation and ISAT ratings up to 110A
  • 22 x 22 x 22 mm, 75% volume reduction from previous generation
  • Magnetic shielding reduces EMI at high switching frequencies
  • Very low DCR: 0.62 to 2.08 Ω (typical)
  • 13 inductance values: 1.9 to 10 µH
