March 27, 2017 by Mouser Electronics

Analog Devices' HMC8400 series amplifiers provide designers the wide bandwidth and low noise operation needed for communications and test instrumentation.

This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

HMC8400 Wideband Low Noise Amplifiers

Analog Devices' HMC8400 series amplifiers provide designers the wide bandwidth and low noise operation needed for communications and test instrumentation.

The LNAs provide high gain and a low noise figure with internally matched, thermally and electrically stable 50 Ω I/Os that require no impedance matching compensation and facilitate cascading amplifiers.

The highest performing amplifiers, with bandwidths up to 28 GHz and frequencies up to 30 GHz, are sold in die form for integration into multichip modules, removing the parasitics associated with a fully packaged device.

Amplifiers up to 10 GHz are available in 6-lead chip scale packages measuring 2 mm square for use in SMT designs.

  • Frequency Ranges:
    • DC to 28 GHz
    • 0.01 to 10 GHz
    • 2 to 30 GHz
  • Gain: 13 to 19.5 db
  • Noise Figure: 1.1 to 3 dB
  • PSAT: Up to 22.5 dBm
    • Allows use as LO driver
  • Package: Die or 6-LFCSP
