Analog Devices Inc. ADuM4221/-1/-2 Half Bridge Gate Drivers

Analog Devices ADuM4221, ADuM4221-1, and ADuM4221-2 isolated, half-bridge gate drivers use Analog Devices’ iCoupler chip scale transformer coils to provide independent and isolated high-side and low-side outputs.

The gate drivers are housed in an increased creepage wide body 16-lead SOIC_IC package and provide 5700 volt RMS true galvanic isolation. The devices have a 4-amp peak output current rating and include options for single or dual input and adjustable dead time control.

The 2.5 to 6.5 volt logic input voltage range supports integration in low-voltage CMOS systems, and the drivers offer a 44ns maximum propagation delay and tight channel to channel matching. All variants offer undervoltage lockout on both the logic and output supply voltages, with multiple undervoltage lockout grades for the output supply.

The devices also have an internal thermal shutdown that sets the outputs low if the internal temperature exceeds 155°C.
