AVX VLAS Automotive Transguard Varistors
AVX VLAS Automotive TransGuard® Varistors offer bi-directional ESD overvoltage protection and EMI attenuation in a single SMD package.
The multilayer VLAS series varistors offer a low clamping to working voltage ratio, ensuring protection of devices that are sensitive to overvoltages. They’re rated for operation at 16V and clamping at 35V, making them ideal for protecting automotive electronics such as infotainment devices, ECUs, displays, MCUs, and more.
The varistors can handle transients up to 1.6J, and they have load dump energy ratings up to 3J. AVX VLAS Automotive TransGuard Varistors are available in compact case sizes from 0603 to 1210, providing exceptional protection in a small footprint.
They’re also AEC-Q200 qualified for automotive applications and can operate from -55°C to +125°C.
