DIODES, INC. AP6335xQ Automotive Synchronous Buck Converter
Diodes Incorporated AP63356Q and AP63357Q are automotive synchronous buck converters that minimize external component count and provide high-efficiency step-down conversion. The converters operate from a wide 3.8V to 32V input and provide a continuous output of up to 5A from 0.8V up to the input voltage.
The AP63356Q has a fixed 450kHz switching frequency for low output voltage ripple, while the AP63357Q switches to PFM operation for increased efficiency at light loads and has low quiescent current for use in always-on systems.
Both models incorporate a proprietary gate driver design that reduces ringing and uses frequency spread spectrum switching to reduce EMI.
They have integrated power MOSFETs and can operate at greater than 90% efficiency. The converters are AEC-Q100 qualified and ideal for a wide range of automotive applications.
