ECS ECS-327KE SMD Clock Oscillator

The ECS-327KE, available from Mouser Electronics, is a low-power 32 point 7 6 8 kilohertz CMOS subminiature SMD oscillator that is ideal for modern high density, low power applications.

The clock oscillator is the most common type of oscillator. It finds use in virtually every aspect of the electronics industry. The clock oscillator establishes a reference frequency used for timing purposes, such as the sequencing of events in a computer.

The ECS-327KE clock oscillator operates at supply voltages from 1.425 to 5.5 volts.  

With a maximum, no load input current of 1.5 microamps at 3.3 volts and a standby current of only 250 nanoamps, it is ideally suited for low-power designs.

This 32.768 kilohertz frequency oscillator provides excellent frequency stability. When operating at 3.3 volts, the frequency tolerance is minus 15 to plus 25 parts per million at 25 degrees Celsius. Over the extended temperature range of minus 40 to plus 85 degrees Celsius, the frequency stability is minus 150 to plus 10 PPM. 

The ECS-327KE has a one-second startup and provides 200 nanosecond rise and fall times when driving a 15 picofarad load. 

A tri-state control input pin allows the internal crystal oscillation to be halted and the output forced into a high impedance state.

The ECS-327KE clock oscillator comes in a 4-pin 2012 footprint with a small 3.2 by 2.5 millimeter form factor and is available in tape-and-reel packaging.
