Maxim Integrated MAX22191 Digital Isolator
Maxim Integrated’s MAX22191 translates a 24V digital industrial input to a 2.4mA current to drive an optical isolator. The device complies with IEC61131-2, with voltage threshold and current levels compliant with Type 1 and Type 3 inputs. The MAX22191 offers a fast 250ns response time and can be used in a variety of circuit designs, including as a current sourcing or current sinking input with optical isolators, or as a current sinking input with logic devices. The robust design operates at temperatures up to 125°C and tolerates ±60V input signals. The MAX22191 is parasitically powered from the input to simplify design, and the input is current-limited to reduce power and heat dissipation.
- IEC 61131-2 compliant, industrial digital input device
- Compliant with Type 1 and Type 3 inputs, and with 48V inputs with external resistors
- Fast response time: 250ns max
- Operating Temperature: -40°C to +125°C ambient
- Robust ±60V input range
- Current-limited input reduces power and heat dissipation
