MURATA MA40H1S-R Ultrasonic Sensors

Murata Electronics’ MA40H1S-R Ultrasonic Sensors are surface mount ultrasonic transducers designed to detect people, objects, and gestures as well as measure distance in consumer devices.

The MA40H1S-R has a 40kHz center frequency and can accept inputs up to 7.2Vp-p, acting as both the transmitter and receiver, with a 95dB minimum sound pressure level and -65dB minimum sensitivity. The sensor is seen as a 4500pF capacitive load, with ±20% capacitance tolerance.

It features an open type construction in a small and thin surface mountable package, ideal for use in applications such as presence detection in office buildings, security lighting, or gesture recognition in touchless human machine interfaces.

  • 40kHz center frequency
  • 7.2Vp-p maximum input voltage (at 40kHz, square wave)
  • 95dB minimum sound pressure level
  • -65dB minimum sensitivity
  • Small and thin package: 5.2mm x 5.2mm x 1.15mm
  • Surface mountable and compatible with reflow soldering
