This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

Nordic Semiconductor nRF52 Series SoCs

Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52 family of SoCs integrate energy-efficient multiprotocol SoCs with cost-effective to high-performance options addressing a wide range of applications.

The nRF52 SoCs are based on an Arm Cortex-M4 or -M4F and a 2.4GHz radio with support for Bluetooth 5, ANT, and proprietary protocols, with additional protocols and NFC on some variants. The SoCs can operate from 1.7V to 3.6V and have a fully-automatic power management system that intelligently manages power to each peripheral to minimize power consumption.

The nRF52 series includes a full range of analog and digital peripherals to easily interface to sensors, displays, touch controllers, and other external devices, and the SOCs are offered in QFN and WLCSP packages.

  • CPU: 64MHz Arm Cortex-M4/M4F
    • Up to 512KB Flash, 128KB RAM
  • Wireless Protocols: Bluetooth 5, ANT, 2.4GHz proprietary
    • Supports concurrent Bluetooth 5 and ANT
  • 1.7V to 3.6V supply range
  • Fully automatic power management to minimize power consumption
