PHOENIX CONTACT Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) Connectors | New Product Brief
This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.
PHOENIX CONTACT Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) Connectors
Phoenix Contact Single Pair Ethernet Connectors provide high-speed data connectivity and power over a single pair of wires, offering a lighter cabling solution and more compact interface for Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT applications enabling communication from sensors to the cloud.
Phoenix Contact SPE connectors are available for IP20 and IP67 environments based on standardized interfaces. SPE permits communication at distances up to 1,000m and at speeds up to 1Gbps. The single pair of wires can simultaneously provide power to connected devices using the Power over Data Lines standard.
This results in a smaller panel connector, lighter cabling, and simpler installation than legacy serial bus systems, and SPE can reuse existing 4-pair ethernet cabling infrastructure, allowing four times as many connections.
- Standardized connectors for IP20 (IEC 63171-2) and IP67 (IEC 63171-5) environments
- Range: up to 1000m
- Data rate: up to 1Gbps
- Power over Data Line (PoDL): up to 50W
- Reduced weight, space requirements, and installation effort
- Reuse existing cabling infrastructure
