TAIYO YUDEN MCOIL metal power inductors provide improved DC bias characteristics and smaller coil size compared to ferrite-based and composite metal devices.

This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

MCOIL Metal Power Inductors

TAIYO YUDEN MCOIL metal power inductors provide improved DC bias characteristics and smaller coil size compared to ferrite-based and composite metal devices.

MCOIL inductors are based on TAIYO YUDEN proprietary materials and process technologies that lead to more stable performance at higher DC bias levels and across temperature. They’re designed to deliver the high current ratings and small package sizes that designers need to meet smaller, thinner design requirements.

Inductors are available with current ratings up to 6.6 A and in packages less than 1 mm thick. MCOIL metal power inductors are suitable for automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics applications.

  • Current ratings: 0.37 A to 6.6 A
  • Inductance values: 0.24 µH to 15 µH
  • Low-profile: Thickness as low as 0.95 mm
  • Operating temperature: -40°C to +125°C
  • AEC-Q200 versions available
  • Improved EMI performance
