This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

TDK-Lambda MIL-COTS DC Input Filters

TDK-Lambda’s FQA and FQB series are board mount DC input filters that provide high attenuation of differential and common mode noise to simplify compliance with military standards.

Both series provide EMI suppression, and the FQB series also integrates active suppression circuitry to protect against surges and transient spikes.  FQA and FQB series filters are rated for inputs up to 40VDC at up to 20A. The filters have low DC resistance to minimize losses and heating.

They have an operating temperature range as wide as -55°C to +115°C and support conduction, convection, or forced air cooling. The filters are encapsulated for operation in harsh environments and have a quarter-brick size package available with a flanged or non-flanged base plate.

  • FQA and FQB: filtering for compliance to MIL-STD-461
  • FQB: active input spike and surge suppression per MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, RTCA/DO-160G
  • Input rating: 40VDC, 20A
  • Operating temperature range: -40°C to +115°C (S-Grade) or -55°C to +115°C (M-Grade)
  • Cooling: conduction, convection, or forced air
  • Package: Quarter-brick size with flanged or non-flanged baseplate options
