This episode of Tech Specs is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

Vishay WSLF Power Metal Strip Resistors

With a power density of 192 watts per square inch, a single WSLF2512 resistor can handle up to 6 watts and replace two high power 2512 resistors, saving board space on high power designs.

Vishay offers the WSLF in values as low as 0.3 milliohms based on solid metal resistive elements with a low TCR. The AEC-Q200 qualified resistors can operate at up to 170 degrees Celsius and are designed for power management in automotive applications, down-hole test and measurement, HVAC, and servers. They also offer very low inductance and low thermal EMF.

  • Power density: up to 192 W/in2
  • Up to 6W in 2512 case size replaces two high power 2512 resistors
  • Resistance values: 0.3mΩ to 4mΩ, ±1% or ±5% tolerance
  • AEC-Q200 qualified
  • Temperature range: -65°C to +170°C
  • Low inductance (< 2nH) and low thermal EMF (< 3µV/°C)
