XEL Family Molded Power Inductors | Component Highlights

August 30, 2018 by Coilcraft

Coilcraft’s XEL family of molded, magnetically shielded power inductors offer low DCR and ultra-low AC losses to maximize efficiency with switching frequencies from 2 MHz to 5 MHz.

The Component Highlights series provides a rundown of a component's specs and intended applications.

XEL Family Molded Power Inductors

Coilcraft’s XEL family of molded, magnetically shielded power inductors offer low DCR and ultra-low AC losses to maximize efficiency with switching frequencies from 2 MHz to 5 MHz.  Inductors are available with values as low as 70 nH, with sizes ranging from the compact XEL3515 to the higher current XEL6060. The XEL family has current ratings up to 45 A and a composite construction that results in soft saturation characteristics to withstand high current spikes while minimizing audible buzzing.  The high current and high switching frequency allow for smaller, lower value inductors to be used. XEL inductors are designed for high-temperature applications, are AEC-Q200 grade 1 qualified, and exhibit no thermal aging issues and they’re ideal for switching power supplies operating at high switching frequencies and with high peak current.  For free evaluation samples and complete technical specs, visit coilcraft.com.
