PSB Series Bidirectional Programmable DC Power Supplies with Electronic Loads

EA Elektro-Automatik's PSB series of bidirectional programmable DC power supplies with built-in regenerative electronic loads feature 15 kW in 3U and 30 kW in 4U with 2000 Vdc models scalable up to 2MW of power.

Power electronics in electric vehicles and renewable energy systems can be rated for tens, hundreds, or even thousands of kilowatts, and these devices can often source just as much power as they sink.  At these power levels, maximizing efficiency is critical because it saves the environment and your operating budget.  EA ElektroAutomatik’s PSB Series of programmable bi-directional power supplies are efficient, flexible, and compact, off-the-shelf solutions that let you stay focused on product development. 

The PSB 9000 offers power levels up to 15kW at 1500V in a 3U chassis, while the PSB 10000 is rated for 30kW at up to 2000V in a 4U chassis.  For higher power levels, the supplies offer master/slave functionality for parallel operation that can scale up to 2MW. 

This bi-directional high efficiency also means less heat is generated in the supply.  Not only does this greatly reduce forced air-cooling requirements, but the lower heat also improves the power supply’s reliability, and the water cooling option on the PSB 10000 series takes this a step further and is able to remove up to 95% of that heat from the chassis.  To put this into perspective, a 240kW rack will dissipate as little as 600W within the chassis.
