Axel Schmidt received his Bachelor of Science in Electronics in 1983 from University Bochum, Germany. During his graduate studies, he developed a drive for X-ray tubes, leading to a successful market introduction of the product. In 1994, he worked as an Account Manager at AMP Connectors. There he developed optical bus systems and harness designs for automotive applications. Responding to market needs, he developed cradles to charge mobile phones in cars. In 2003, Schmidt joined KEMET Electronics Corporation as the Global Account Manager for Continental. Currently, he is a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer for Central Europe, East and Alpine regions. He is responsible for creating technical content for KEMET’s Digital Engagement Platform and supporting marketing activities in the EMEA sales region. He is based in Germany.
