Dr. Michael A. de Rooij is the GaN Applications Fellow at Efficient Power Conversion Corporation (EPC). He received the B. Eng., M. Eng. and, D. Eng. degrees from The University of Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1992, 1994 and 1998 respectively, all in electronics and electrical engineering with a major in power electronics. He worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Power Electronics (CPES), Virginia Tech in 2001. Dr. de Rooij has authored and co-authored 65 papers at various conferences and journals and has been granted 62 US and international patents. He is also an author and co-author of 10 books. His experience covers highly resonant loosely coupled wireless power, high density DC-DC converters, RF power amplifiers, AC to DC converters, uninterruptible power supplies, integration of power electronic converters, power electronic packaging, induction heating, photovoltaic converters, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Systems. Dr. de Rooij is a senior member of the IEEE.
