Perry Schugart Sr. Global Manager of Marketing - Silicon Carbide (SiC)

ABOUT

Perry Schugart is the senior global manager of marketing for Microchip’s Silicon Carbide (SiC) business unit. In this role, Perry is responsible for creating new products as well as innovative marketing strategies to educate, promote and grow Microchip’s SiC business. Previous to Microchip, Perry founded Agnesium Marketing, a business focused on creating world-class marketing and product management organizations in power electronics. Prior to this, he held leadership roles at ABB Switzerland and AMSC (American Superconductor) focused on high power systems. Perry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Riding the Second Wave of SiC: Power Packaging

The semiconductor industry is experiencing the next wave of Silicon Carbide (SiC) performance enabling SiC die to perform at higher levels. In the first wave, SiC die was packaged in standard Silicon-based (Si) packaging not designed for fast switching devices like SiC. In this session, we will provide an overview of the advancements in SiC power packaging and demonstrate a performance comparison of an advanced package versus a standard package.
