Abhay Phillips, R&D Manager LBS Test Solutions, Rohde & Schwarz Abhay Phillips is Director of Location Based Services (LBS) Test Systems at Rohde & Schwarz GmbH in Munich, Germany. His responsibilities cover the development of LBS test systems for testing mobile devices. This involves implementation of tests based on 3GPP, regulatory requirements and network operator needs. His focus is on 5G NR LBS technologies, with special attention to newer technologies, which will be deployed in 5G systems. He holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and Software engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from University of Pune.
Stefan Maier, R&D Engineer LBS Test Solutions, Rohde & Schwarz Stefan Maier is Project Manager and Senior Development Engineer in the Location Based Services (LBS) Lab at Rohde & Schwarz GmbH in Munich, Germany. He studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at Technische Universität München (TUM) and at the University of Arizona. He holds a Bachelor of Science and an Engineer's degree with honors from TUM, and has 10 years of professional experience in the fields of A-GNSS and VoLTE/E911. Maier is responsible for multiple patents in the field of LBS, is a member of the Institute of Navigation and is currently working on test systems for 5G emergency caller location.
