The limited accuracy offered by inductive position sensors has kept them out of industrial applications until now. This application note reveals how design improvements made by onsemi reduce harmonic distortion and how new calibration features remove the errors due to misalignment and PCB asymmetries.

onsemi's NCS32100 inductive position sensor address improving requirements from demanding industrial use cases to deliver performance of 50 arcseconds or better at speeds up to 6,00 RPM, with high repeatability using only PCBs for stator and rotor to achieve both compact size and ease of installation.
