AI in Action: Transformative Technologies for Human Vision Image Sensing

Please join us this February to discover how human vision sensing can elevate your AI needs. With over 20 years of expertise in AI solutions, we will demonstrate how our cutting-edge sensing technology integrates seamlessly into your applications.

In partnership with Aratas

Aratas' Human Sensing technology offers a variety of solutions: a) OKAO is a software library of image sensing functions to understand humans; b) HVC-P2 module incorporates ten different image sensing functions to recognize people's conditions; and c) AM1 Top-Down View Human Body Detection Software

OKAO Software:

OKAO software can be categorized as

OKAO offers a variety of functions to be used in multiple applications such as Industrial Controls, Basic Security, Communication Robots, Digital Camera, Mobile Devices, Digital Signage, and more.

Some of the examples where human interaction is a critical component for the overall user experience:

  • Factory Automation – User access control and personalization for machines using Face Recognition.
  • Robotics – Communication Robots can adjust talking speed and volume by using Facial Expression Estimation. Also, they can identify and communicate with family members.
  • Video Conferencing – Estimate the face orientation (Facial Parts Detection) and/or gaze angle of the participants (Gaze Estimation) to know ratio of time the participants have been watching the screen.
  • Vending Machines – Age/Gender Estimation to make product recommendations to customers. It is also possible to collect marketing information.
  • Home Appliance – Energy conservation using Human Body Detection for home appliances like air conditioners, which can power down when no one is present.
  • Digital Signage – Age/Gender Estimation can assist in effective advertisements, changing the ad based on who is in front of the sign, and realize effect measurement.
  • VLTs – Age Verification for operators/establishments offering Video Gaming Terminals.

One of the challenges when developing a product is incorporating software technology. However, Aratas' OKAO technology provides ease and flexibility for this pain point because it can work with any platform (OS Independent), and the only requirement to incorporate the software is that the system needs to be either 32-bit or 64-bit CPU.

Key Features of OKAO Technology:

- High Speed Processing: Performs with high speed and accuracy despite small CPUs in embedded environment.

- High Accuracy: High Detection Performance

- High Robustness: High Performance in poor lighting conditions.

Other key highlights of OKAO technology:

- Small footprint i.e. this solution requires small memory requirements meaning OKAO software can work with any embedded Linux platform such as raspberry pi, etc. and even no-OS platform.

HVC-P2 (B5T) Module:

Aratas offers a camera module HVC-P2, which incorporates ten different image sensing functions in an easy-to-mount and compact format to provide image sensing capability to various devices with no cameras.

The ten functions that are embedded on the device can recognize people’s blinks, gaze direction, expression, gender or age, with a camera module.

HVC-P2 offers two types of lens options, a long-distance 50-degree type (B5T-007001-010) and a wide-angle, 90-degree type (B5T-007001-020). This allows customers to make a choice depending on detection distance and FOV (Field of Vision).

HVC-P2 is able to detect and estimate the attributes or condition of the objects without notifying the presence of its camera and helps in realizing the optimal service which corresponds to users’ needs.

AM1:

AM1 is Top-Down View Human Body Detection Software which outputs location information of the operator and contributes to improved productivity.

Benefits:

- Top View: Reduce blind spot due to Top View

- High Accuracy: Same Accuracy as Normal Camera even for small feature because of Top View

- Convenience: Easy to Integrate

System Example:

The key takeaway is that Aratas' Human Sensing technology offers innovative solutions that are not only versatile but also highly effective in enhancing user experiences across various industries. By seamlessly integrating into existing customer’s platforms with minimal requirements, Aratas' solutions provide high speed, accuracy, and robustness, ensuring reliable performance in even the most challenging environments. As the demand for smarter, more intuitive systems grows, Aratas' commitment to improve human interaction and productivity through cutting-edge AI sensing technology is paving the way for the next generation of human-centric solutions.
