Direct Time‑of‑Flight (dToF) sensing enables precise, real‑time 3D depth measurement for applications ranging from robotics and industrial automation to mobile devices, AR/VR, and smart consumer systems.

In this webinar, ams OSRAM introduces the TMF8829 multi‑zone dToF sensor and explains how it delivers high‑resolution spatial depth data across configurable sensing layouts. With support for resolutions up to 48×32 zones (1,536 measurement points), a detection range of up to 11 meters, 0.25 mm depth resolution, and an 80° field of view, the TMF8829 combines performance and flexibility in a compact 5.7 × 2.9 × 1.5 mm module.

Built on advanced SPAD, TDC, and histogram technology, the TMF8829 performs on‑chip processing to output distance, confidence, and ambient light data, while supporting multi‑object detection, high smudge tolerance, and AI‑ready raw data streaming.
