ABOUT

Werner Dürport is a Product Manager for signal analyzers and non-cellular measurement applications at Rohde & Schwarz headquarters in Munich, Germany. He has been working at Rohde & Schwarz for over 40 years. With a technician’s background and a focus on communications engineering, he has specialized in broadcasting technology. Since 2002, he has been working as Product Manager for Broadcasting Signal Analyzers. In 2020, he expanded his responsibilities to non-cellular (Wi-Fi, UWB, Bluetooth®) measurement applications.

Wi-Fi 6/6E is just entering the market, promising more efficient operation and making use of additional 1.2 GHz of spectrum. However, the demand for much higher data speed and lower latency is unabated. The industry is already working on the next generation of Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11be or Wi-Fi 7. Wi-Fi 7 is expected to provide data rates as high as 40 Gbps, essentially enabled by use of wide channels, higher modulation schemes and multilink operation.
