AVX Medium Power Film Capacitors | New Product Brief
This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.
AVX Medium Power Film Capacitors
AVX’s family of Medium Power Film Capacitors are designed to prevent catastrophic failure and minimize capacitance loss over time, providing reliable operation and a long lifetime in automotive, industrial, renewable energy, and other applications.
AVX Medium Power Capacitors use a polypropylene or polyester dielectric and have a controlled self-healing design that divides the film into individual capacitor segments, each protected by fuse gates. This prevents catastrophic failures and provides a soft capacitance roll off at the capacitor’s end-of-life. Capacitors are available from 0.68µF to 8800µF, and with voltage ratings from 75V to 1900V.
They can operate over their full temperature range without derating, and the capacitor family includes options with temperature ratings up to +105°C.
