This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

Harting ix Industrial Ethernet Interface

Harting ix Industrial is a smaller, more robust interface for Ethernet and other high-speed interfaces. The interface is designed with contacts and shielding that support Cat 6A transmission for data rates up to 10 Gbit/s, and supports PoE and PoE+ voltage and current levels while occupying 70% less space than RJ45 connectors, allowing designers to reduce PCB size or fit more ports in the same footprint. Mechanically, the PCB jacks offer 5 THR pins that secure the jack to the PCB, and two metal locking clips on the cable connector secure the connection to the jack, for a robust connection that can be used in high shock and vibration environments and complies with EN 50155 railway requirements. Harting ix is available with Type A coding for ethernet, and Type B coding with 10 contacts for signal and bus communication.

  • Category 6A transmission, up to 10 Gbit/s
  • Rated for 50V, 1.5A (compatible with PoE/PoE+)
  • 70% smaller than standard RJ45 PCB jack
  • 5 THR pins for high retention force between jack and PCB
  • 2 metal locking pins to secure cable to jack
  • Meets EN 50155 railway specifications
