This episode of Tech Specs is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

KOA Speer RN73x Thin Film

The KOA RN73H and RN73R are thin film resistors designed for high reliability in industrial, medical, transportation, and other high temperature and high humidity applications. They have a protective coating that improves moisture resistance stability to a 0.1% Delta R at 85% Relative Humidity and 85 Degree Celsius for 1000 hours.

The resistors can be used at temperatures up to 155 degrees and offer exceptional thermal stability, with TCR as low as plus or minus 5 ppm per degree C. Resistors are available from 10 ohms to 1.5 megaohms and with standard tolerance down to 0.05 percent.

RN73R resistors offer an improved electrolytic corrosion resistance compared to other RN73 resistors, while the RN73H series is AEC-Q200 qualified for automotive applications.

  • Moisture resistance: 85°C, 85%RH, 1000 hours
  • Operating temperature range: -55°C to +155°C
  • TCR: ±5ppm/°C to ±100ppm/°C
  • Resistance values: 10Ω/47Ω (RN73R/RN73H) to 1.5MΩ
  • Tolerance: ±0.05% to ±1%
  • RN73H: AEC-Q200 qualified
