Molex Pico Lock Connector System | Heilind ElectronicsDecember 29, 2020 by Heilind Electronics
AAC’s Digital Datasheet video series introduces the specs and applications of components—both new and familiar—straight from their datasheets.
Molex’s Pico-Lock wire-to-board connector system combines high current ratings with secure locking in an ultra-low-profile connector.
It is ideal for today’s feature-rich and space-constrained devices in automotive, consumer, industrial, and other applications. Pico-Lock connectors are available in 1.00, 1.50, and 2.00 millimeter pitches and have a side positive locking mechanism that provides robust mating retention in a lower profile than competitive top latching connectors.
Headers offer wide solder tabs that provide secure PCB retention and mechanical stability, and a beveled pin design that enables smooth mating while preventing damage to the pin and contact. The connectors also have built-in mating guides to prevent mis-mating while guiding the connector housing into the header.
Pico-Lock connectors are available with 2 to 12 circuits, and the 2 circuit 2.0mm pitch connector system can reach up to a maximum of 6.5A using 20-gauge wire.
