TE Connectivity AMPMODU Connector System Headers & Receptacles

TE Connectivity AMPMODU 2mm headers and receptacles are space-saving board-to-board connectors for reliable signal transfer in PLCs, servo drives, material handling, industrial and building automation, and other space-constrained applications.

The connectors feature a 2mm centerline spacing, which results in a 38% reduction in board area compared to conventional 100mil or 2.54mm connector systems. The AMPMODU 2mm connector system includes vertical and right-angle headers combined with top-entry and dual-entry vertical and horizontal receptacles. This allows for multiple board orientations and different stacking combinations.  Single and dual-row configurations are available, with 2 to 25 positions per row, for up to 50 positions per connector.

TE designed the AMPMODU 2mm connector system to be reliable. The headers have 0.50mm square pins, while the receptacles have dual cantilever beams. This ensures a reliable electrical connection, and maintains connectivity in applications that are subject to shock and vibration. Contacts are plated with 30µ” of gold to provide enhanced durability, and the housing is made from UL 94 V-0 rated high-temperature plastic, supporting operation at up to 125°C. The headers and receptacles are also compatible with efficient automated assembly processes and are offered with multiple solder tail lengths to accommodate PCB thickness from 1.6mm to 2.4mm.
