These capacitors are utilized on nearly all IO pins connected to a wiring harness.

This episode of Tech Specs is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

AVX ESD-Safe MLC Chips

Since ESD events have the ability to destroy components, these AVX ESD-Safe capacitors are utilized on nearly all IO pins connected to a wiring harness.

ESD-Safe multi-layer ceramic capacitors have ESD ratings up to 30 kilovolts in small footprint packages, making them ideal for high-density designs. They’re AEC-Q200 qualified and rated for -55°C to +125°C operating temperatures, while optional FLEXITERM terminations enhance mechanical flexure and temperature cycling performance.

The capacitors are offered from 4.7 nanofarads to 2.2 microfarads and with a voltage rating up to 100V. Designers can select a capacitor that fits their applications requirements while minimizing signal distortion.

  • ESD ratings: 18kV to 30kV
  • AEC-Q200 qualified including HBM as per AEC-Q200-002
  • Operating Temperature: -55°C to +125°C
  • Optional FLEXITERM® terminations
  • 4.7nF to 2.2µF, ±5% to ±20% tolerance
  • Voltage: 10V to 100V
