JN5179 Wireless MCU
NXP’s JN5179 wireless MCUs are built as modular solutions using ZigBee 3.0, ZigBee Pro, and Thread protocols. These protocols are particularly well suited for smart lighting and home automation, and the JN5179 balances power consumption, performance, and security for those applications.
Low standby and receive currents support long battery life for always-on nodes. The devices are offered as modules with variants for different antenna configurations, and all modules have FCC modular approval, greatly reducing the time and cost of compliance testing.
The associated development kit includes hardware and example code to create a mesh network with two boards. One board is used as a dimmer switch and the other as a dimmable LED light, but both boards can be reprogrammed to suit the needs of the developer.
