Texas Instruments TPS54424 4A Synchronous SWIFT Step-Down Converters

Texas Instruments’ TPS54424 is a 4A synchronous SWIFT step-down converter that is optimized to minimize solution size. The TPS54424 integrates high- and low-side MOSFETs with low RDS(ON) in a 3.5 mm x 3.5 mm HotRod™ QFN package. It uses peak current mode control for its lower component count and fast transient response—and a high switching frequency to reduce inductor size. The converter operates from a 4.5 V to 17 V input and can output from 0.6 V to 12 V, with a precise 0.6 V voltage reference with very tight tolerance across temperature. The TPS54424 has a wide operating temperature and can be used in telecom and wireless infrastructure, test and measurement, medical imaging, and data center applications.

  • Integrated 14.1mΩ and 6.1mΩ MOSFETs
  • Small 3.5mm x 3.5mm HotRod™ QFN package
  • 200kHz to 1.6MHz fixed switching frequency
  • 0.6V to 12V output voltage range
  • 0.6V ±0.85% voltage reference over temperature
  • –40°C to 150°C operating junction temperature
