This episode of Tech Specs is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

Bourns CSS2H Series Resistors

Bourns CSS2H current sense resistors deliver high accuracy at a low cost and are simplistic for straightforward designs.

CSS2H resistors have a metal resistive element electron beam welded to copper alloy terminations. Resistors are available from 0.2 to 5 milliohms to maximize efficiency. High accuracy measurements are enabled resistor tolerance as low as ±1% and by the resistive element’s low TCR of 50 parts per million per degree celsius.

Continuous power ratings are available as high as 15 watts. The resistors also offer very low thermal EMF and low inductance. CCS2H current sense resistors are offered in sizes from 2512 to 5930, are AEC-Q200 compliant, and can operate from negative 55 to positive 170 degrees celsius.

  • EB welded metal strip shunts
  • Resistance values: 0.2mΩ to 5mΩ, ±1% and ±5% tolerance
  • TCR: ±50ppm
  • Power rating: up to 15W (at 70°C)
  • AEC-Q200 compliant
  • Operating Temperature Range: -55°C to +170°C
