Vishay Power Metal Strip Resistor WSHP2818

Vishay’s WSHP2818 is a 10 W automotive grade Power Metal Strip resistor in a 2818 package, and its high power density (198 W/in2) saves PCB space, reduces weight, and lowers component count. That’s because you don’t have to use bulky leaded power resistors or more resistors with a lower power rating. The WSHP2818 is available with resistance values from 1 to 100 mΩ and tolerance as low as half a percent. The resistors use a solid metal alloy resistive element and all welded construction that offers high thermal stability, low thermal EMF, and very low inductance. WSHP2818 resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified and have an operating temperature range of -65 to +170°C, making them ideal for automotive, industrial, and server applications. For lower power requirements, the WSHM2818 offers all the same features and benefits, but with a 7 W power rating and a wider resistance range up to 200 mΩ.

  • 10 W power rating
  • 10 to 100 mΩ with ±0.5% tolerance, 1 to 10 mΩ with ±1.0% tolerance
  • TCR: < 20 ppm/°C resistive element, 70-200 ppm/°C total component
  • AEC-Q200 qualified
  • Operating Temperature Range: -65°C to +170°C
  • 7 W variant: WSHM2818
