INTEL NUC 8 Compute Element (U-Series)
Intel’s NUC 8 Compute Element for U-Series Processors is a compact system-on-a-card ideal for creating custom, modular, and upgradeable computing solutions.
The NUC Elements family consists of NUC Compute, Board, and Chassis Elements. Compute Elements include processing, memory, and connectivity on a single, compact PCB with a 300-pin edge connector to plug the Compute Element into a NUC Board Element, third-party carrier board, or custom carrier board. Assembly elements add a thermal solution to Board Elements for easier custom integration, and a fanless chassis and board assembly is also available to form a complete system. The modular design cuts R&D time and allows the NUC Compute Element to be easily replaced for upgrades or repairs.
Intel’s NUC 8 Compute Element is based on Intel 8th Gen Core, Pentium Gold, or Celeron U-series processors with Intel UHD graphics, with Intel vPro Technology on select Core i5 and Core i7-based models. These offer 4GB or 8GB of soldered down dual-channel LPDDR3 memory. Pentium Gold and Celeron models also have 64GB of eMMC storage on board. The NUC 8 Compute Elements also offers a broad range of connectivity, including Intel Wireless-AC 9560 802.11ac Wi-Fi providing up to 1.73Gbps of bandwidth, as well as Bluetooth 5, USB 3.1, a gigabit ethernet PHY, and PCIe. It’s capable of driving up to three 4k displays at 60Hz and supports Windows and Linux OSes. The card measures 95mm x 65mm x 6mm, and is qualified for 24x7 operation, and has no moving parts, enabling its use in stationary and mobile system designs.
