STMicro's STPSC 1200V silicon-carbide Schottky diodes are high-performance rectifiers for photovoltaic inverters, EV and HEV chargers, motor drives, and other high power applications.

This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

STMicro 1200V SiC Diodes

ST’s STPSC 1200V silicon-carbide Schottky diodes are high-performance rectifiers for photovoltaic inverters, EV and HEV chargers, motor drives, and other high power applications. Designers can use the STPSC 1200V diodes to increase system efficiency due to an industry leading forward voltage of 1.35 V and low switching losses, and this is consistent across devices with a minimal variation in forward voltage.

The diodes also offer switching speed that is independent of temperature for efficient operation across the operating temperature range. Diodes are available with forward current ratings up to 20 A, and dual diode packages are available with a common cathode. Variants are available that are AEC-Q101 qualified and PPAP capable for automotive applications.

  • Current Ratings, IF(AV): 2 A to 20 A
    • Dual, Common Cathode: 2x 5 A to 20 A
  • VF at IF, 25°C: 1.35 V (typ), 1.50 V (max)
  • Surge capability: 7x nominal current (10 ms pulse)
  • Packages: D2PAK, TO-220AC, TO-247, DPAK HV
  • Negligible reverse recovery characteristics
