ON Semiconductor NCL30180 AC-DC controllers let designers of LED lighting systems create simpler, more compact LED bulbs, drivers, engines, and tubes.
This New Product Brief (NPB) is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.
ON Semiconductor NCL3018x AC-AC Controllers
The NCL30180 family of AC-DC controllers let designers of LED lighting systems create simpler, more compact LED bulbs, drivers, engines, and tubes. This is due to the use of primary side feedback, which eliminates the optocoupler and secondary feedback circuitry, reducing component count and design footprint.
NCL30180 controllers support flyback, buck-boost, and SEPIC topologies and are constant current controllers with current regulation of ±2%, which means LEDs don’t have to be binned at production to ensure consistent light output.
The controllers can be used with isolated and non-isolated designs and provide near-unity power factor correction, as well as a full set of protection features.
- CC controllers with primary-side feedback
- 300mA/500mA totem pole driver
- VCC: 9.4 V to 26 V
- ±2% current regulation accuracy
- Package: SOIC-10, SOIC-8
- Programmable thermal foldback
- Various dimming functions
