This episode of Tech Specs is part of a video series highlighting the features, applications, and technical specs of newly-released products.

Molex SlimStack Connectors

The Molex FSB5 series SlimStack connectors are the smallest floating board-to-board connectors on the market, with a tiny 0.4-millimeter pitch and a mated width of just 3.8 millimeters.  These connectors have a plus or minus 0.5-millimeter float range in the X, Y, and Z-axis directions.

The large float range is complemented by a soft floating force, and together these make both manual and automated assembly much easier.  Molex offers the FSB5 series in 20 to 60 positions, which can be used with differential signals up to 6 gigabits per second.

The space-saving and flexible connectors can operate at temperatures up to 125°C and are ideal for automotive cameras and radar, industrial robots, consumer drones, and many other applications.

  • Smallest Board-to-Board connector: 0.4mm contact pitch, 3.8mm mated width
